A wearable interactive installation that transforms the tension of conflict into a single, absurd breath.
Introduction
Breath in Between is a wearable interactive installation concerned with countering separation. The work begins with the idea of the A.T. Field, understood here as the invisible psychological skin between one person and another. During an argument, a position can turn from an opinion into a distance: the louder the voice, the tighter the body becomes, and the more easily words can wound.
The device enters this psychological relationship through the body. A metal exoskeleton holds the wearer in a tense posture while sensors capture breathing and voice. When the voice reaches a threshold, the head structure releases a bubble. The bubble acts like a softened A.T. Field, turning the strained language of conflict into a single breath. Its absurd humour interrupts the argument and creates a brief moment in which the barrier between people can loosen.

Process
The work connects a restrictive metal structure, a soft skin-like breathing surface, and sensor-triggered bubbles to turn rising vocal tension into a physical interruption.
